Training programme of training in Bucharest for 2010 – 2011

Two TA training and supervision groups and an exam preparation group: Each group will meet normally meet over two days 7 times a year – However because of the late planning of this year I am proposing to arrange a total of 5 groups for the remainder of 2010 and will start with 7 groups in 2011.

1) Foundation TA training course - 2 days - 9.30 – 6pm

·         All trainees post 101 - For those with less than 200 hours of training.

2) Advanced TA training group – 2 days – 9.30 – 6pm

·         For those with more than 200 hours of training - including those planning to take the CTA examination.

3) Exam Prep Group – meeting for 1 day: - 9.30 – 6pm

For those who have sufficient training / supervision hours and are currently preparing to take their CTA examination in the next two years.

The focus of the exam preparation group will be:

·         Writing the written exam

·         Preparing recordings for the oral examination

·         mock examinations

·         Supervision regarding the process of preparing for their exams.

·         Those preparing for TEW or TSTA examinations will be welcomed as visitors in order to prepare for the TEW or TSTA examination process.

4) Occasional additional days.

·         101 courses – to be run at least once a year.

·         Visiting trainers…

Topics for the training: Because of the urgency of creating this programme the details for the topics have not yet been decided. Over the coming weeks Dave as course director will discuss the over all plan for training with the other trainers.

  • However our commitment is that over the course of 5 years the training programme will cover all the requirements needed to take the CTA examination.
  •  When trainees sign up to the programme they will be asked to provide a summary of the topics they would like to be covered in the training they are about to engage in…
  • The training topics for the programme will then be drawn up by the trainers taking into account the requests of the trainees.

Number of Participants / fees / commitment:

  1. Maximum of 20 participants. (except for the 101 course)
  2. Minimum  - If less than 10 each participant must agree to pay more per day.
  3. Fees:
    •  €50 / day when over 10 participants.
    • An additional €10 per participant for each person less than 10 attending the group.
    • The 101 will be run at a reduced fee - yet to be arranged.
  4. Commitment:
    • Each participant to commit to a full year of training from the date they join the group.
    • Fees are for membership of the group – not for attendance therefore on acceptance into the group the fee for the whole year becomes payable.
    • For 2010 a deposit will be paid in advance of starting the group of a minimum of €100 – by the 21st of February.
    • Then each group the minimum of €100 will be paid… meaning the last group of the year will have been paid for by the deposit.
    • For the Exam prep group the membership will be a slow open group… people joining when a space becomes available – however they will commit to remain in the group for one year or until they pass their CTA exam.
    • For the exam prep group we will allow visitors to the group who are preparing for their TEW or TSTA examinations
